What is the role?
We’re looking for a media savvy Account Manager to work on leading consumer health and sports brands. The ideal candidate will have excellent media relations expertise and contacts, particularly with consumer lifestyle and consumer health/wellbeing journalists. Curating stories and generating earned media coverage is central to this role; being part of a fast-paced press office as well as managing media engagement in high profile consumer campaign launches. The role also involves managing a range of experts and influencers from KOLs to celebrity talent. Strong project management, client service and writing skills are a must!
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on two very well-known consumer brands in the UK and Globally, delivering impactful earned-media strategies and award-winning creative campaigns which achieve real change for the two brands.
What will you be doing?
- Central role working on the fast-paced UK press office for one of the UK’s most-loved brands, including placing a range of stories as part of an extensive specialised team: across health, style, cultural moments and purpose-led stories
- Working on big creative campaigns that get the nation talking about their eye and ear health, including the opportunity to help shape earned media strategy
- Working on EU and Globally led campaigns, including UK activation
- Be part of creating revolutionary campaigns that support the client’s belief that exercise/sport can improve mental wellbeing
- Organising regular media briefings and dedicated time to make new contacts/share insights
- Managing research projects and studies that set the bar on providing evidence to support creative ideas or generate new ones
- Required to work as an integrated team with social media agency
- Work with data & analytics team to ensure stories are insight-led and relevant to target audience, and we are measuring work effectively
- Working with experts, talent and commissioning research i.e. consumer surveys
- Often involves working with KOLs/academics, influencers and talent
- Working with creative and design teams to create a wide range of content and earned assets, including attending photoshoots/filming
- Opportunity to travel
What are we looking for?
- A few years’ experience in consumer health/wellbeing at a consumer or healthcare communication agency
- Strong consumer health and lifestyle journalist contacts across national and consumer press
- Highly skilled in generating media coverage in consumer health and lifestyle media
- Experience developing content for consumer audiences including media materials
- Experience earning the confidence of clients and establishing relationships
- Good organisational skills and ability to coordinate workload effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Understanding of new business and pitching
- Enthusiastic to learn new skills as part of a high-performing team
